A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

John Keats, Endymion (excerpt)

My relationship with literature and art is a long one. In my native South
Africa I attended the National School for the Arts, where I was trained
as a painter and tutored extensively in the History of Art. I then moved
to London to study, graduating with a BA in English Literature
and Creative & Media Writing. At that time I was published in the
short story anthology Metrophobia, and was honoured to be chosen
as the winner of the 2006 Writers Inc. Middlesex Bursary. I went
on to complete an MA in Cultural & Critical Studies and am currently
working on my doctoral thesis, which focuses on contemporary
Gothic adaptations of fairy tales in literature.

I have always been deeply passionate about both literature and art,
and it is this which has inspired me to start modelling. Over the last
few years I have dedicated myself to bringing my favourite stories to
life in the visual tradition of the Pre-Raphaelite and Romantic styles,
with the aim of combining the timeless beauty of classical art and the
myths and legends which underpin all great literature. These stories
and paintings have given me my dreams, and all I have in life I owe
to this. This collection of images and excerpts from fairy tales and
mythology is a celebration of these great works, and it is my way of
acknowledging the profound effect that they have had on my life.

The site also includes a selection of other work which I have done
with various Alternative photographers, including images from
several fashion shoots. The site was designed with the help of the
immensely talented Andrew Burgess, and owes a great deal to
the gifted artist and illustrator Jason Juta. I frequently update the
site, so please check back regularly for new pictures and changes.
Details of the photographers and artists who have helped me create these beautiful pictures can be found on the Links page. I have been most fortunate to have worked with these exceptional men and women, and know that all who see these pictures will agree that they are truly wonderful. Please enjoy these images as much as we have enjoyed creating them, but please remember that everything on this site is protected by copyright. Please contact me for information, or for permission to reproduce any of the images.
